RFPs

The City of Chattanooga is known for its success with downtown and riverfront revitalization and public participation. We have a shared vision for continuing downtown redevelopment, but as is the case with many cities, our existing zoning code does not support that vision, nor does it provide sufficient quality control to ensure that new development is well designed to be compatible with surrounding neighborhoods. Variances are often necessary to enable the very urban development form the community desires. To that end, the City of Chattanooga desires a form-based code for the downtown area that will serve as the template for other existing or emerging urban centers throughout the community.
