Submission Deadline: April 13, 2018, 4:00 pm (local time)

The City of Detroit, Michigan, City Planning Commission seeks the services of a qualified professional planning consultant to prepare a major update of the City’s Zoning Ordinance. Some overarching goals for the update to the Zoning Ordinance are to:

  • Improve existing regulations, including a review of the City’s off-street parking requirements, number of zoning districts, and listing of by-right and conditional uses;
  • Prepare a form-based code overlay district or chapter; and
  • Explore new zoning concepts not found or adequately addressed in the current Zoning Ordinance, including allowing a greater mix of compatible land uses, expanding missing middle housing types, etc.
The Office of Contracting and Procurement is requesting sealed proposals from qualified firms to provide the Detroit City Planning Commission with a major update of the City’s existing Zoning Ordinance. All proposals will be received electronically by the City of Detroit, Office of Contracting and Procurement Department, through the BidSync e-Procurement system on or before 4:00 PM EST (Eastern Standard Time) April 13, 2018.
