Pleasant Hill BART

The effort to create the Pleasant Hill BART Station master plan and code was initiated by the County and an interested developer. For many years, a consensus could not be reached on how to best redevelop the 18 acres of surface parking lots around the station. Through a public participation charrette, the consultants, County, developers, and citizens were able to achieve consensus on a clear redevelopment vision. A form-based code was then developed to translate this vision into a workable implementation tool.
